Wylee Risso (b. 1994) is a motion graphics artist, illustrator, and oil painter based in Portland, OR. At an early age, Wylee found himself always with a pencil in hand, drawing super heroes and recreating his favorite comic books. His creativity was always present through his youth where he started writing, directing, editing his own movies with his friends for high school projects.
In 2015, at 21 years old, Risso took his next leap into the fine art world, creating lush oil paintings of family members and friends. For the next five years, he continued to develop his style and vision landing him multiple group shows, as well as his first solo exhibition at Linda Hodges art gallery in Seattle, WA. In 2020, Julien Baker’s management team reached out to Wylee to have him paint the album artwork for her upcoming full-length album, titled ‘Little Oblivions.’ The magnitude of this work didn’t register until he had friends from New York and Los Angeles sending photos of the album artwork on billboards around each city. The album artwork even made its way onto a Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
In recent years, Wylee has taken his eye for life around him and started applying those skills to a much broader visual and creative scope. Designing graphics for local bars, producing brand logos, and creating 3D motion graphics.
